In the weeks following Doug Ducey’s 2014 gubernatorial win, state agencies, departments and commissions prepared a report to provide a snapshot of the organization, from the perspective of its top staff, intended to inform an incoming governor.
The reports detail the agencies’ three most pressing challenges, greatest accomplishments and opportunities for reform, along with vital statistics about agency size, budget and organizational structure.
Former Gov. Jan Brewer asked the agencies to produce the transition reports for the incoming governor, Ducey spokesman Daniel Scarpinato said, providing valuable information to the 2015 Arizona Government Transition Committee.
“Obviously you have a very short window of time to make this transition into a new administration,” he said.
The reports also help Ducey reach toward his stated goal of broad government reform, Scarpinato said, by answering the questions, “What do these agencies look like now? What’s working well? What things could we do better?”
Gov. Doug Ducey’s office provided the documents in response to a public records request. Read through agency reports or search through all 722 pages by entering a word or phrase in the search field below.
