Local Live(s): A storytelling event about missing pieces

  • Sept. 8, 2022 | 7 p.m. (MST)
  • Valley Bar, 130 N. Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85004
AZCIR and ProPublica storytelling event about missing pieces

Join the Arizona Center for Investigative Reporting and ProPublica for Local Live(s), a night of storytelling and music bringing together investigative reporters and community members.

ProPublica and AZCIR journalists will share the stories behind their published stories — parts of the reporting process that were particularly fraught, intriguing anecdotes that didn’t make it onto the page or the circumstances that brought them to a subject in the first place. Think of it as a live podcast all about reporting in the region we love.

The theme of our show is “Missing Pieces: Stories About Lost Threads, Holes in the Narrative and Creative Attempts to Make It Work.”

The event will also include live music from Jonah and Jason Howard and storytelling from Angelica Lindsey-Ali, writer and host of The Moth StorySLAM in Phoenix. Featured reporters include:

  • Shaena Montanari | AZCIR
  • Isaac Stone Simonelli | AZCIR
  • Eli Hager | ProPublica
  • Mark Olalde | ProPublica
